Ellen E.M. Roberts was a speaker November 8, 2014 at the Roe Jan Library Conference.
Nestled in the beautiful Hudson
Valley right next to Connecticut,
the Roe Jan Community Library serves Hillsdale, Copake, and Ancram, three
little towns on the eastern side of the Hudson River in New York State. The
building is on Route 22, just south of
Hillsdale. Only three years old, the
green building is a comfortable, bright
and airy space.The outstanding professional staff is supported by 200
volunteers which enables them to provide programming from Toddler Wiggle Time, to book groups,
yoga classes, art exhibits, concerts, author’s presentations, and workshops on
gun safety and knitting.

Ellen E.M. Roberts was the keynote
speaker at its inaugural writers’ conference, and gave an inspiring talk on
writing for money, writing for love and just plain writing because you have to.
She provided the audience with one=on=one conferences to discuss their works in
progress. At the final seminar, she
spoke about the importance of a well-designed, competently marketed book to
those who think they might like to self-publish.
