Ellen E.M. Roberts was a speaker November 8, 2014 at the Roe Jan Library Conference.

Nestled in the beautiful Hudson Valley right next  to Connecticut, the  Roe Jan Community Library serves Hillsdale, Copake, and Ancram, three little towns on the eastern side of the Hudson River in New York State. The building is  on Route 22, just south of Hillsdale. Only  three years old, the green building is a  comfortable, bright and airy space. The outstanding professional staff is supported by 200 volunteers which enables them to provide programming   from Toddler Wiggle Time, to book groups, yoga classes, art exhibits, concerts, author’s presentations, and workshops on gun safety and knitting.

Goofing off during a break. Ellen reads about Lyme Disease from the Library Book Sale.

Ellen E.M. Roberts was the keynote speaker at its inaugural writers’ conference, and gave an inspiring talk on writing for money, writing for love and just plain writing because you have to. She provided the audience with one=on=one conferences to discuss their works in progress.  At the final seminar, she spoke about the importance of a well-designed, competently marketed book to those who think they might like to self-publish.
