Helen and Joe Venurini were our hosts for a launch party at their lovely spa in the Westgate Mall, celebrating Benjamin Rubenstein,  author of SECRETS OF THE CANCER SLAYING SUPER MAN.

Ben advanced his theories of eating, exercising and nutrition in his talk, BEAT CANCER’S BUTT at a brunch that might  change the way you eat and live. The menu was a healthy breakfast served with green drinks, omega fatty acid rich fish and whole grains.

Because Ben sets one day a month aside for NO VEGETABLES, guests contributed glazed doughnuts, Cheezits and Boy Scot Cheddar popcorn to the famous "Cheat Table" for fast food junkies. Green tea, red wine, hot coffee and Fernet Branca were served as well because Ben believes that caffeine and alcohol, in moderation, can boost performance.

Ellen E.M. Roberts was a speaker November 8, 2014 at the Roe Jan Library Conference.

Nestled in the beautiful Hudson Valley right next  to Connecticut, the  Roe Jan Community Library serves Hillsdale, Copake, and Ancram, three little towns on the eastern side of the Hudson River in New York State. The building is  on Route 22, just south of Hillsdale. Only  three years old, the green building is a  comfortable, bright and airy space.The outstanding professional staff is supported by 200 volunteers which enables them to provide programming   from Toddler Wiggle Time, to book groups, yoga classes, art exhibits, concerts, author’s presentations, and workshops on gun safety and knitting.

Ellen E.M. Roberts was the keynote speaker at its inaugural writers’ conference, and gave an inspiring talk on writing for money, writing for love and just plain writing because you have to. She provided the audience with one=on=one conferences to discuss their works in progress.  At the final seminar, she spoke about the importance of a well-designed, competently marketed book to those who think they might like to self-publish.
